• Gear Transmission: The excavator gearbox utilizes gear transmission to transfer power. Gears are disc-shaped mechanical components with tooth-shaped protrusions. The gearbox typically contains multiple gears that transmit power through meshing. The larger gear is called the driving gear, and the smaller gear is called the driven gear. The driving gear receives power from the engine and transmits it to the driven gear through gear meshing, thereby driving the excavator's working devices.
• Gear Ratio: Gears in the gearbox achieve speed and torque conversion through different tooth sizes. The gear ratio refers to the ratio between the number of teeth on the driving gear and the driven gear. When the driven gear has fewer teeth than the driving gear, the transmission ratio is greater than 1, enabling torque amplification for conditions requiring high torque output. When the driven gear has more teeth than the driving gear, the transmission ratio is less than 1, enabling speed amplification for conditions requiring high-speed operation.
